It's Been Way Too Long...

I can't believe how long it has been since I have updated last!  But I do have good reasons...several sicknesses have came and went, including the stomach flu for Mark and Jade, a sinus infection for myself and Jade, croup for Jade (which resulted in a nice little trip to the ER), and a smattering of just plain colds here and there.  Needless to say, we are completely DONE with winter- and even though it is the end of April...it just keeps hanging on!  Jade is now 7 1/2 months and makes us laugh all the time.  She is overall a very good baby (with some times of stubbornness), but we really are enjoying her!

So finally, here are a few pictures to help you all with your Jade withdrawal :)

Jade with a not-so-popular kitchen tool...whatever makes her happy, right??

Visiting Dad at work...Mark has been working a lot of hours lately, so Jade and I frequently get to go visit him:

She is a huge fan of her jumparoo now...seems like just yesterday when she couldn't reach the bottom!

We tried to take her to Barnes and Noble one cold day and she was very interested in Daddy's magazine:

In the middle of March, we got the opportunity to go visit Alex and Cassie (Mark's brother and sis-in-law) and their clan in Indiana!  We had such a great time, even if it was much too short.  Poor Gus, the Springer Spaniel, had diarrhea while we were there, so it made for some very interesting times :)  Claire, who is only about a month older than Jaders, was just adorable (although I was quite frustrated that she loved Mark and couldn't stand me!)

Gavin was still quite excited to hold Jade even though she wasn't so thrilled:

One night, we were watching TV, and Mark and I looked over and saw this!  We started dying laughing.  Ian is quite interested in Iron Man right now :)

Kaitlyn and my very own "PRINCEess" (you can also see part of Gus in this pic):

Sitting in the tub like a big girl!

Playing with Mommy in the bedroom:

On Communion night, Mark and I went over to Mom and Dad Stoller's for dinner, with the intention on going to Communion afterwards.  We had a grand plan that we would put Jade in a sleeper, stick her in her car seat, and let her sleep while we were there.  Well...Jade had other plans.  She decided to have a blowout 5 minutes before we were supposed to leave, and we forgot to bring ANY replacement clothes!  She was completely naked.

So Mom Stoller came to the rescue and let us borrow some of the same clothes that Todd wore about this age.  Now we know what our little boys will look like :)

In preparation for our Wisconsin trip, my co-worker let us borrow their Kelty baby carrier so Mark can take Jade on hikes while I am at my conference.  This was when he first tried it out.  She doesn't look like she likes it in this picture, but she really does!

I recently downloaded the Instagram app to my iPhone, and I am loving it!  So- some of these pictures might look familiar :)  These are pictures of Jade in action- taking Mark's glasses.  We have started to tell her "No" when she does this as she does it to anybody!

Always happy when she knows a bath is coming!

And LOVES her rubber ducky when she's in the bath...

Just this past weekend was the wedding weekend for Ryan and Ashley.  We were so excited to have both Todd home from Mexico and Doug, Krista, and Ashlyn home from Texas! Even Alex was able to make it up from Indiana :) The Stollers may be spread out between three different states and two different countries, but it seems like we have no problems picking up where we left off.

The happy couple at the rehearsal dinner...Congrats Ryan and Ashley!

As you can see, we have been very busy, but enjoying it all.

A few accomplishments of Jade thus far:
-At 7 months, she finally is able to purposely roll over in both directions (that sure took long enough)
-At 5 1/2 months, she was able to sit up on her own- without support
-She HATES baby food.  The only thing she has been able to eat successfully are sweet potatoes.  She will eat table food though, so we might skip the baby food stage altogether!
-She is able to pick up food or other items with her pincher grasp and put it into her mouth.
-She bounces ALL the time- either in the jumparoo or on our laps :)
-Her bottom teeth have officially started to come through- causing some whiny times, thats for sure!
-She has a favorite "toothy" grin, when she is really excited about something
-Loves the great outdoors- whether its in the carrier or in the stroller
-Giggling more and more- loves to be tickled and when we make funny faces or funny noises
-Loves music and bounces/wiggles when we play fun/catchy songs
-Squeals like a little pig!
-Says some consonant sounds- usually in the form of "Da da da da" over and over again.  This makes me turn to her and say "Ma ma ma ma" over and over again, for fear that she will say Daddy's name before mine!

And that is about all I have for now!  Guess it's time for bed- I'm so tired.  So sad that I have to go to bed by 10:00 now...oh the life of a mom :)

With love,
Mark, Kate, and Jade
