No Longer an Infant...but a Baby!

I know it has been such a long time since I have updated, but life has been pretty busy lately!  My class is in full swing and work has been crazy lately, so the blog has kind of taken a back burner to everything else.  Jade (aka Choompy) has been growing and developing so much in the last month or so!  Mark and I have noticed that she has definitely progressed out of the infant stage and is now more of a baby...hence the title of this post :)  We are definitely enjoying this stage the most so far as she is much more interactive and fun to play with.  She is 5 months going on 16 years...she continues to make us VERY aware when she is not happy and will complain until she gets her way!  Here's a little glimpse of Jade since the last time I posted, and yes there are lots of pictures:

This was a day after her 4 month shots... Jade's face is kind of like "Amused I am not":

I think in the last post I mentioned that her sitters must feed her in her car seat or she will not eat.  Here is proof!

Hanging out under the Jungle gym

Playing with one of her new favorite toys- an empty water bottle!  She is definitely taking an interest in everything lately- toys are good, but non toys are even better.  One day, Mark and I gave her a little bag of chips that wasn't opened and she threw that thing around and banged it on the table to see how much noise it could make!  Surprisingly the chips were still mostly intact.  Mark loves to give Jade all sorts of things and takes her around the house to let her feel different textures...she loves it!

Mark and I love to take Jade into our room and play with her on our bed:

Jade is so happy after her bath- she will talk and touch her toes and roll from side to side. She has officially rolled over from her stomach to her back one time...but she will not do it again!  Stinker...But she is very strong- she can lift her head from the ground and look around, bear weight and stand on her legs forever, and sits up on her own for several seconds at a time.

This is probably one of my favorite pictures of her of all time...if you look closely, you can see her chubby little elbow fat:

Playing again under the jungle gym- thanks to the Colorado Steffens for getting this for us!

One night we had Devon, Leah, and Paisley over and Jade was completely freaked out by Pais!  Jade would scream and cry while Paisley was so excited and kept touching and trying to play with Jade!  It was hilarious.  They are almost 3 months apart- so hopefully they will be better friends when they get older :)

Jade is really starting to do this squealing thing when she is really excited/happy.  It's cute for a while, but then it gets a little ear piercing!

Jade is still trying to get used to Grandma Fehr- whom she doesn't see as often as Grandma Stoller.  Here is the "The Green Shirt" trying to play with Jade by showing her Elmo.

We were so excited a couple of weekends ago when Shayne, Em, Brady, and Maddie came to visit!  Here is sweet baby Maddie who is such a cute little peanut and hardly makes a peep!

Some of the girls (sorry Jodes- we took this on Sunday when you couldn't make it!)

Jade in her jumparoo that she loves so much:

At bath time lately, I have been giving Jade a washcloth to suck on.  One time I tried to take it away from her and she was sooooo ticked.  I gave it back and she was happy again!    Is it typical for a 5 month old to throw a temper tantrum????

We have also recently introduced rice cereal.  The first two times didn't go so hot, but the third time wasn't too bad.  You can tell by her face that she isn't too fond of it, but I think she is getting used to it.  She definitely prefers her breastmilk...although NOT from a bottle of course!

We are totally in love with this little girl and we are so thankful for everything (well except the poop and temper tantrums) that she brings to our life.  Love you all.

Mark, Kate, and BABY Jade :)
